Construction of the Facilities

The major paving material is 8-inches thick to carry the weight of the buses. The expanse is softened by textured surfaces and color accents - brick pavers, colored concrete at crossover points and colored concrete accents, mainly at the concourse.

The base of the main building as well as the concourse columns and shelters are of natural stone from Arkansas. Cast-stone sills and a traditional dark red blend of brick rest on the stone base. The roof is made of a durable material that has the look of slate, yet is significantly more economical.

The interior materials in the high-use areas are primarily clay tile. Various patterns and warm colors evoke memories of train stations of yesteryear. The tile frieze accenting the exterior is brought inside to brighten the waiting area.
